Riverside Symphony Artistic Director Anthony Korf's phantasmagorical new work for children of all ages is based on a newly penned fairy tale co-authored by the composer and international pop-diva Sabina Sciubba, who not only narrates and sings this 21st-century tribute to Prokofiev's timeless Peter and the Wolf but also contributed a major melody. Sabina's incandescent, Grammy®-nominated Brazilian Girls, known for their unique mix of dance, house, tango, electronica and jazz, provides fire and texture to the orchestral fabric in this forward-looking new opus. Mozart and Prokofiev, earlier masters of the magical, are represented by a youthful symphony brimming with wit and promise and a lesser-known gem, also composed for young people.
