Salon 1

  • 555 West End Avenue New York, NY United States (map)

In its ongoing quest to deepen appreciation for classical music, Riverside Symphony offers a deeper, yet more leisurely alternative to the standard pre-concert lecture format through its annual Salon series, each installment held a week or so prior to every concert.

Drawing on recorded excerpts and live performance, directors Korf and Rothman—joined by visiting soloist YooJin Jang—share thoughts on how the programs came together while preparing listeners for the musical rewards in store, focusing particularly on the new and unusual repertory for which the orchestra is known. The presentation is followed by a wine-and-cheese reception.

This event is free to subscribers and concert ticket holders, however seating is limited so please contact the office today to reserve your spot!
